A New Use For SINP

I stumbled upon this accidently when I tried to install Dia using SINP today. The SlackBuild tarball for Dia did not have the correct directory structure SlackBuilds.org compliance. The contents would be extracted to the current directory instead of dia/. With a little modification SINP could be used to go through every tarball in the repository and flag the ones that had a similar problem. (although I’m sure the site admins could rig up something a little easier on their end) SINP could take this a little bit further because it can also check if the program’s download link is valid, and if the SlackBuild runs OK.

It would be time consuming to compile all the different applications, but it would save lots of time when doing repo maintenance. (I hope at least)

Oh! Thanks to the four people who have downloaded SINP so far. 😉
