Is your software counterfeit?

I went to microsoft’s site today (to look up integration of Linux into a Windows network) and saw this:

Is your software genuine

The site the link goes to is basically an excuse to check you system for pirated MS products. The “What’s the risk” page mainly talks about malware that comes bundled with product key crackers and sites offering product keys. I think it’s funny that they try to lure you to click on the link with the offer of free downloads. I also think that their use of the word counterfeit is a bit of a stretch.

On a similar note: Please don’t pirate software. If it’s too expensive complain to MS. You might also want to give Linux a try or openoffice.org
